Our Story
Benjamin’s Hillview Manor is an eight-room guesthouse owned and managed by the husband and wife team, Albert and Monica Benjamin along with our children. It is nestled in the foothills of the Cahal Pech Maya Ruin located in San Ignacio, Cayo District, Belize. The Maya Ruin is only a five-minute walk or a one-minute drive from our location which makes it an ideal place for any visitor to begin their tour of beautiful Belize. Xunantunich, another spectacular archaeological site, is only a 15-minute drive away. The central location near the George Price Highway offers pristine views of the skyline, hills, and villages surrounding San Ignacio town. Victor Galvez Stadium is directly across the street from us and opens daily to visitors. The park boasts a walking path that is perfect for an early morning or evening stroll, a basketball court, a soccer field, and a space to sit and just enjoy nature. Our guests also have the convenience of having several grocery stores, restaurants, and even a gas station that is within proximity of the guesthouse.
We acquired this location in 2016 and began renovations on the house that was already on the property. The family fell in love with the area because even though it was centrally located, it also gave us the feeling of being surrounded by nature especially in the early mornings and evenings when the different species of birds, including flocks of wild parrots, can be seen and heard flying overhead. The project started as a family home and gradually evolved into a guesthouse because friends and family who came to visit told us that they always felt so welcomed and relaxed when they came to stay with us. We eventually decided that we could provide that same hospitality and service to visitors who wanted to experience the Jewel of Belize. The guesthouse was completed right before the Covid-19 pandemic hit so we did not get the opportunity to officially open for business because of the shutdowns that followed. Despite the challenges we have all experienced collectively, we are excited that we are finally able to be opening in 2022. Our goal at Benjamin’s Hillview Manor is to provide our guests with a memorable experience and A-Class service while feeling like they are at their home away from home.
